This policy explains what data the Pampinus mobile application (the "App") collects, why it collects it, with whom it is shared, and what rights you have over it. The controller is Manuel Ortega ("we", "us"), developer of Pampinus, contactable at privacy@pampinus.wine.
This depends on how you use the App:
| Data | When | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Only if you create an account | Authenticate you and sync across devices |
| User identifier (UUID) | When you create an account | Associate your data with your account |
| Your cellar, tasting notes, lists | If you create them | Display and sync them |
| Photos of bottles, labels or wine lists | If you add or scan them | Store your cellar and process scans. When you scan a label that is not recognised on your device, the photo is sent to external wine-recognition services (see section 4) to identify the wine, and may contribute to the community wine catalogue. |
| Approximate location | Only if you tap "Use my location" when recording where you tasted a wine | Turn your position into the name of a nearby place, so the App can suggest it as the tasting location. Your coordinates are never stored: they are sent to our server, used once to look up a place name and then discarded. Only the resulting text is saved, and only if you keep it. You can always type the place by hand instead, with no location permission at all |
| Sommelier and pairing history | If you use the AI | Keep a history of your conversations |
| Subscription status | If you subscribe or redeem a code | Give you Premium access |
| Feedback and contact messages | If you send us feedback from the "About" screen | Read and answer your comments and improve the App. Includes your message, an optional reply email if you choose to give one, and basic technical context (app version and platform) |
| Diagnostic data (errors, performance) | Always, anonymously | Detect and fix bugs |
| Anonymous usage analytics (screens viewed, features used) | Always, unless you turn it off in Settings, Data and Privacy | Understand how the App is used and improve it. Not linked to your account, email or any other data you provide |
Pampinus can be used anonymously and offline. In that mode, your data lives only on your device and is not sent to any server.
We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it to third parties.
We work with providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only as necessary:
Some of these providers are in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area. In those cases, transfers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or other valid mechanisms. We do not share your data with anyone else except as required by law.
We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account from the App (Settings, Account, Delete account), we delete your personal data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep. In anonymous mode, data lives only on your device and disappears if you uninstall the App.
Data is transmitted encrypted (TLS) and stored encrypted at rest at our providers. Even so, no system is 100% infallible, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, as well as data portability. You can exercise these rights by deleting your account from the App or writing to us at privacy@pampinus.wine. If you live in the EU and believe we are processing your data improperly, you can lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country (in Spain, the AEPD).
Pampinus is about wine and alcoholic beverages. The App is for people aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect data from minors under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please write to us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy when necessary. We will indicate the date of the latest update above. If the change is significant, we will notify you within the App.
For any privacy questions, write to us at privacy@pampinus.wine.
